About State Council Groups

The State Council groups on OR Nurse Link are unlike Speciality Assembly and Chapter groups because AORN does not maintain State Council membership lists -- the State Councils do.

Because individual State Councils maintain their own membership lists, AORN has no way of knowing which members should automatically be added to State Council groups on OR Nurse Link.

State council

In some cases, State Councils have reported their officers and board members to AORN, so we have that information and have manually added those members as State Council Group owners to kick-start group participation.

State Council Owner

But it's up to the individual State Councils to keep the group owners on OR Nurse Link current and invite their members to the group.

If you have a membership email list for your state council, the best way to invite a large number of members to your group is to compose an invitation email via your email program, and include the link to your group.

It's best to send the members to the Group Profile page.

State Council Profile Page

To find that link, click on the Group Profile tab in the middle of your group's pages.

When you're on the Group Profile page, copy that URL to your clipboard to paste into your invitation email.

State Council Link

Your group's Profile Page link will look something like this:

http://www.ornurselink.org/Groups/State%20Councils/virginia-state-council/Pages/profile.aspx

After clicking on the link in your email, members will have to login to OR Nurse Link and click the Join This Group button to join your group.
