The State Council groups on OR Nurse Link are unlike Speciality Assembly and Chapter groups because AORN does not maintain State Council membership lists -- the State Councils do. Because individual State Councils maintain their own membership lists, AORN has no way of knowing which members should automatically be added to State Council groups on OR Nurse Link, so no members or group owners are automatically pre-populated into the State Council groups.
In some cases, State Councils have reported their officers and board members to AORN, so we have that information and have manually added those members as State Council Group owners to kick-start group participation. But it's up to the individual State Councils to keep the group owners on OR Nurse Link current.Changing Group Ownership Only existing group owners can make other members group owners or remove ownership. If you're currently a group owner and want to add or delete group owners for your State Council group, go to the Owner Settings tab of your group. Please note that in order for someone to be assigned as a group owner, they must first join the group. Click the Edit Owners Permissions button.Clicking Edit Owners Permissions will bring up a list of group members.Add members as group owners by clicking on the Add Owner Privileges link under their picture.Remove group owners by clicking on Remove Owner Privileges. If you're a group member and need to be added as a group owner, contact one of the current group owners and ask them to make you an owner. If you cannot get in contact with a current group owner, please contact Deb Warren, the State Council Relations Coordinator, and she can add you as a group owner.< Back to Help Home
