Colleagues on OR Nurse Link are very similiar to "friends" on facebook -- a circle of people you know or with whom you have a professional relationship.
Adding someone as a colleague will add them to your colleague list (which can be accessed by clicking on My Colleagues in your My Network box) and will give you an easy and convenient shortcut to contact them and view their documents and pictures.
Think of your My Colleagues list as an address book.
To add a colleague, just use Find a Member at the top of every page to find people you know and then click on the "Add Colleague" Link in the lower-right of their search listing. A Colleague Request message will appear and you can add a personal message before you send the request.After you click Send, the colleague request will be sent to that person's OR Nurse Link inbox. Once they confirm that they are actually colleague of yours, they will show up on your Colleagues List.Additionally, if you hover your mouse over a linked name on the site, a pop-up box will appear that has shortcuts for adding members as colleagues.
