Group Events and Calendar 

Every group has its own calender for its members to keep track of events.

Add an Event to Your Group Calendar
On your group homepage, click the Calendar tab.

Under the Group Calendar heading, click on New then New Item.

Fill in the required information: Title, Start Time and End Time. Add an optional Description of the event.

Attach a file (an agenda, newsletter, presentation, etc) to an event by clicking on "Attach File" in the upper left-hand corner of the event form. Multiple files may be uploaded to the event.

Please Note: Do not check "Use a Meeting Workspace to organize attendees, agendas, documents, minutes and other details for this event."

Click OK. Verify that your event has been added to the calendar.

Deleting an Event on Your Group Calendar
Only a Group Owner can delete an item that has been added to the Group Calendar.

Attaching a Document to an Event

If you are not a Group Owner, contact him or her to remove the item by clicking on their name in the About This Group section and sending them a message.

If you are a Group Owner and need to delete an item, click on the Event in question, and then Delete. Click OK when the dialog box asks you if you'd like to send the item to the recycle bin.

Editing an Event on Your Group Calendar

Only a Group Owner can edit an item that has been added to the Group Calendar.

If you are not a Group Owner, contact him or her to edit the item by clicking on their name in the About This Group section and sending them a message.

If you are a Group Owner and need to edit an item, click on the Event in question, and then Edit Item. Edit the necessary fields, and then click OK.

Click on the Event in the Calendar.

On the item page, click on the document link in the Attachments section, and it will begin to download.

Adding an Alert to an Entire Calendar
To be alerted when anything is added or changed on your group calendar: Under the Actions drop-down menu, choose Alert Me and then specify your Alert preferences. Click OK.

Click into the Event on the calendar, and choose the Alert Me link in the upper left-hand corner of the form.


Deleting Event Alerts
In the My Network section of the site, choose My Alerts and then Delete Alert.
