Attaching a photo to your profile will help other members in the community connect with you. If you don't feel comfortable uploading a picture of your face, no problem! Try uploading a photo of your pet, hobby or clinical passion.

1. In the upper right corner of top navigation, click on your name to go to your profile page.
2. Click on the camera icon in the upper right corner of your default cover photo.
3. From the drop down, click and select 'Add Profile Photo.'
4. Browse your desktop for your profile photo and click Open
5. You can use your mouse or keyboard to scroll and resize your profile photo within the highlighted parameters. Click Save.

How to update your profile information

 

A completed profile will help other members learn more about you and your credentials. Completed profile information also leads to a more useful member directory, and for the purpose of networking.

Updating your profile is easy as 1-2-3!

1. In the upper right corner of top navigation, click on your name to go to your profile page.
2. Under the PROFILE section (right underneath your profile cover photo), click EDIT
3. Fill out your profile! Click SAVE

View Profile

Network with other community members by checking out their profile! You can click on a member's profile avatar when you see it throughout the community in order to visit their member profile. What kinds of things might you see on a member's profile?

  • SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE: Click 'message' underneath their cover photo in order to send them a private message to their community inbox.
  • ADD FRIEND: Click 'add friend' to send a colleague connection request. A list of your connections are here.
  • You can also view a member's GROUPS, RECENT ACTIVITY, and COLLEAGUES (aka Community Connections).
  • PROFILE COMMENT: Leave a friendly profile comment on a member's profile!

Who can see your profile?

 

Setting your privacy settings on your profile information is simple!

1. Click on EDIT next to your profile information.
2. At the top right corner of your profile data, click the privacy button to select COLLEAGUES ONLY, EVERYBODY, or NOBODY for who can view your profile data.

  • COLLEAGUES ONLY: This selection will allow your community connections to view your profile information. 
  • EVERYBODY: This selection will allow all logged-in community members to view your profile information.
  • NOBODY: This selection will prevent anyone (except you) from viewing your profile information.

3. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom and click SAVE to update your privacy view settings!

*NEW MEMBERS will have their profile information set to be viewable to everyone by default.

Member Directory

Using the member directory

 

Networking is one of the main benefits of ORNurseLink - use it to your fullest advantage! 

One way to find other members is visiting your own Profile! When you fill out your profile data, your credentials become LINKS to find other members with the same credentials.

1. Go to your profile page.
2. If you have filled out your profile information, you should see links for your credentials. Click on one of the links.
3. This will bring you to a search page that auto-filters for other members with that same credential

MEMBER DIRECTORY
1. Go to the member directory
2. Click on SEARCH AND FILTER button
3. Click 'ADD SEARCH AND FILTER' to select from drop down
4. Check your filter criteria; don't forget to click APPLY to see results
5. Find someone interesting and you'd like to make a connection? Click on 'ADD FRIEND' to send a colleague connection request!

View your community connections:

1. In the top navigation, click on MY ACCOUNT and select MY COLLEAGUES
2. You can also access your friend list by going to your profile and clicking on COLLEAGUES in the sub-menu
3. On your Colleague connection page, you will see PENDING REQUESTS and your ORNurseLink COLLEAGUE connections

Profile Privacy Settings

 

Profile privacy settings can be set under MY ACCOUNT and the PRIVACY tab.

  • Send me private messages:
    • Colleagues Only: Precisely that - only your ORNurseLink colleague connections will be able to see the message option for you.
    • Everybody: any logged-in community member can send you a private message to your community inbox.
    • Nobody: the message option is hidden from everyone on your profile.
  • Create profile comments:
    • Colleagues Only: only your ORNurseLink colleague connections will be able to leave a comment on your profile.
    • Everybody: any logged-in community member can leave a comment on your profile.
    • Nobody: the ability to leave a comment on your profile is hidden from everybody.
  • View profile comments:
    • Colleagues Only: only your ORNurseLink colleague connections will be able to view the comments left on your profile.
    • Everybody: any logged-in community member can view the comments on your profile.
    • Nobody: comments are completely hidden from everyone on your profile.
  • Profile:
    • Colleagues Only: only your ORNurseLink colleague connections will be able to view your profile information section.
    • Everybody: any logged-in community member can view your profile information.
    • Nobody: your profile information is hidden from everyone.

Community notification settings

 

Email notification settings can be set under MY ACCOUNT and the NOTIFICATIONS tab.

  • "I receive a private message" - Get an external email notification when someone sends you a private, internal message via community
  • "Someone posts a comment to my profile" - Get an external email notification when someone posts a comment to your profile
  • "Comments are posted to my photos" - Get an external email notification when someone posts a comment to a photo you uploaded
  • "Comments are posted on my videos" - Get an external email notification when someone posts a comment to a video you uploaded
  • "Comments are posted on my resources" - Get an external notification when someone posts a comment to a resource you posted
  • "Blog posts are published" - Get an external notification when a blog post is made to a site-wide blog
  • "I'm invited to events" - Get an external notification when someone invites you to a site-wide event
  • "Someone likes my content" - Get an external notification when someone likes content you posted
  • "Group Notification Options" - IMPORTANT: This needs to be enabled in order to set your individual group notification settings
  • "Discussion Subscription Options" - IMPORTANT: This needs to be enabled in order to set your individual forum discussion subscription settings

2. Click on Settings
3. Click Notifications tab
